Playa
Del Carmen, is located on the Riviera
Maya, about a 45 minute ride south of the
Cancun airport, and Tulum another 40 minutes
south of Playa del Carmen. Playa is the largest
town in the Riviera Maya, having grown
extensively over the last X years, from a
once-small fishing village. Thanks to laws that
restrict the height of buildings, Playa
has managed to maintain its quaint atmosphere.
It has not been overrun by big hotels, which
can interfere with beautiful ocean views.

After
spending the day on white sand beaches or diving
in the cenotes, locals and tourists alike gather
along 5th Avenue where you can find a variety
of cuisine, shops and night life. Playa del
Carmen accommodates the young and the
young-at-heart quite effortlessly. I have found
Playa Del Carmen to have a wonderful cross
section of cultural backgrounds. People from
all over the world have relocated here including
myself. There is something special about this
place that you will want to be a part of.
If you are looking for the hustle and bustle of
Cancun or Cozumel you will not find it in Playa
Del Carmen.

wearing. She said it would take about 2 months
to complete. This photo was taken in a tiny shop
located off 5th Ave and Calle 10.
